C. Wayne Rice is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of The Center for Health Affairs (earlier known as the Greater Cleveland Hospital Association), the oldest and one of the largest regional hospital associations in the United States. He served as president from 1966 to 2001 and currently as President Emeritus.
A member of numerous boards of directors and local, state, and national committees, Dr. Rice is a certified fellow of the American Society of Association Executives and a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He has served as national chairman of the Conference of Metropolitan Hospital Associations for two terms, and chairman of the Insurance Committee for the American College of Hospital Executives. Among Doctor Rice’s numerous professional and civic awards are the Ohio Hospital Association’s Donald J. Newkirk Award; the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil Award for Excellence in Community Service; and the American Society of Association Executives’ Gold Circle Award’s Certificate of Achievement in Communications. On May 8, 2001, Doctor Rice received the Center’s Portrait Award, the fifth recipient in the history of the Center to receive this prestigious award. In 2001, Doctor Rice was inducted into the Medical Hall of Fame which honors individuals who have had the most important and lasting impact on medicine and healthcare throughout Cleveland over the past 200 years.
Doctor Rice is the author of scores of articles on the healthcare administration and business management for local, regional, and national publications.
Dr. Rice brings four decades experience supporting executive searches for healthcare and other non-profit organizations. Through his role at the Center for Health Affairs he represented the interests of hospitals and health systems in northeast Ohio, including supporting efforts in recruitment of key executives. He also served in board leadership roles for other non-profits where he assisted the organizations in searches for senior leadership. Additionally, because of his recognition among healthcare leadership nationally, he has contributed to the placement of many executives serving healthcare organizations.
Donald Baugher has invested forty years in a variety of positions in the healthcare industry, most recently as Vice President, Business Development for a publicly traded $200 million long term care/ assisted living company with facilities in the United States and Canada. Academically, Donald earned a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and an MA in Cross Cultural Ministry from the Dallas Theological Seminary. After twenty years of clinical practice in a community setting, he began consulting and successfully established the franchises for Healthcare Recruiters International in thirteen western states.
Donald’s experience in executive search began in 1984 and enables him to actively interact with senior management in a variety of health care settings. His clinical and management skills afford him the opportunity to bring significant and critical insight to his searches; insight that may be lacking with non-clinical search consultants.
Donald has received numerous awards from his peers in the pharmacy, career management and geriatric care professions. He served on the Illinois State Board of Pharmacy, founded the Illinois Association of Medical Equipment Suppliers, and was chairman of the ethics committee for Healthcare Recruiters International. In 1974, his pharmacy practice was selected as the recipient for the first-ever Schwartz Award for Innovation in Pharmacy Practice. This prestigious award has been given only three other times since its inception. Mr. Baugher served in many positions in state and national professional organizations, most notably as one of the first members of the A.Ph.A. Committee to establish specialties in the pharmacy profession and as one of the first members of the NAPLEX committee to establish uniform state boards for pharmacy. Donald has published his views on pharmacy in national and international journals and has been profiled by www.snalf.com for his views on successfully staffing skilled nursing facilities. He is often sought as a speaker who brings his faith to his daily practice.

Allison A. Riddle joined Nutter Group, LLC in 2007 as an associate in the firm’s Chicago office. Riddle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications from Elon University, a top liberal arts school in North Carolina. Prior to joining Nutter Group, she excelled in the placement of executive administration for a temporary and contract staffing organization.
