Professional Fees and Expenses

Retained: We quote a flat professional fee based on the nature of the search, plus expenses. Ninety percent of our work is retained.

Modified Retained: We quote a flat professional fee based on the nature of the search, plus a monthly administrative fee. Modified retained can be converted to retained if determined necessary. We have used modified retained search for clients with whom we are mutually familiar and comfortable. Modified allows the client and consultant to share the risk on the professional fee. It is a cross between retained (client assumes most risk) and contingent (consultant assumes most risk). It works best when there are no organizational dynamic issues to work through to sell/prepare candidates for position responsibilities and challenges once they arrive, and when there is a limited universe of candidates. Cost savings come from a reduced fee and expenses associated with a retained search. We do not personally interview and VIDEOVIEW®, but we do telephone screen and evaluate the candidate before presenting them to you. There is also a conversion clause for switching to retained.

Expenses: Expenses for a retained search are estimated based on the nature of the search and normally range from $4500 - $7500. Expenses incurred during the search include candidate and consultant travel (the client organization will reimburse candidates directly for travel associated with "on-site" visits), lodging, meals and advertisements. Expenses also include an administrative fee of $375 per month for a maximum of three months to cover long distance communications, postage, and overnight courier.

Discounts: Reduced fees may be arranged for clients who engage us for concurrent searches or multiple searches within one year.
